This two-year pre-university DEC program at Marianopolis College extends the regular Health Science stream with an enriched, honours-level curriculum, leading to the Diplome d'etudes collegiales (DEC) in Science. Enriched courses move at a faster pace, cover additional topics, and present more challenging problems than the standard stream. Students have access to specialized laboratory equipment, including an Amersham Imager and a Fourier-transform infrared spectrometer, and are assigned a faculty member as a mentor. The program provides exposure to research careers through visits to professional laboratories and guest seminars, supported by smaller class sizes and peer tutoring. Students who wish to change direction can transfer into the regular Health Science stream or into Honours Pure and Applied Science. The credential prepares graduates for university programs in medicine, health sciences, and related fields, building on a foundation in chemistry, physics, and mathematics.
