Overview
Epidemiology (Thesis) is a 45-credit Master of Science program offered by the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. Admission Requirements: The M.Sc. Epidemiology (Thesis) admission page states that applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree in a related area and shows substantial quantitative skills, such as good grades in undergraduate differential or integral calculus or statistics courses; a GRE Quantitative score of 160 or above is optional but can strengthen an application. The Cumulative Grade Point Average required is 3.0/4.0 overall, or at least 3.2/4.0 over the last two years of study, calculated by the University; satisfying these minimums does not guarantee admission, as places are limited and competitive. Applicants whose first language is not English and who have not studied in English or French must submit English test scores: TOEFL iBT 100 (under the scale used for tests taken before January 2026; results are valid two years) or IELTS Academic with a minimum overall band of 6.5. The Department only admits for the Fall term; applications for Winter or Summer are not accepted.
