Overview

This diploma program at Medicine Hat College covers three design disciplines: mechanical design technology, civil design technology, and building design technology. Students learn to research, plan, design, construct, and test projects with consideration for the relationship between the built and natural environments, using standard engineering drawing methods, 3D modelling, scanning and printing, and product design and coding. The two-year program runs full-time across four terms with a fall intake at the Medicine Hat campus, and offers flexible delivery allowing students to choose in-person or online learning, or a combination of both. The program suits high school graduates with Physics 20, English Language Arts 30, and Math 30, as well as mature students aged 21 or older with equivalent qualifications, and prepares graduates for employment in research, design, manufacturing, and sales roles across consulting, government, oil and gas, mining, and manufacturing sectors.
