Overview
Autism Studies is a post-diploma certificate at NorQuest College for professionals working with autistic individuals across disability services, education, early learning, and healthcare settings. The program takes a holistic approach, combining applied and theoretical learning to build competencies in recognizing autism diversity across the lifespan, building positive relationships with autistic individuals and families, applying evidence-based practices for regulation and communication, working within multidisciplinary teams, and developing professional self-regulation skills. It runs six terms, is delivered fully online, and includes an optional 150-hour field placement. Graduates are eligible for a post-graduate work permit. The program is not currently open to international students.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Applicants must have completed a relevant diploma program or degree in healthcare, education, early learning, or wellness fields; equivalency options may be available for applicants missing some prerequisites. Applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate proficiency, with results no more than two years old.
