Video Games, Creative Industries and Society is a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) specialization within Ontario Tech University's Communication and Digital Media Studies program, offered by the Faculty of Social Science and Humanities. Delivered on campus on a full-time basis, with September and January starts, the specialization runs four years, or five years with the direct-entry co-op option. Students examine the role of video games as a form of communication, storytelling and cultural expression, exploring how games influence audiences, communities and society while developing skills in digital media, interactive storytelling, content creation and critical analysis. Through hands-on projects and interdisciplinary coursework, students gain the knowledge and creative skills needed to understand and help shape the future of interactive media. The co-op option provides full-time paid work terms throughout the degree.
