Program details

Overview

This 28-month diploma program prepares graduates to work in the design and production of manufactured goods, covering design and manufacturing methods, quality assurance and equipment selection, computer-aided engineering, building systems design and control, mechanical analysis, and supervision and management topics, with specialty electives available in the final term for further focus. The program is delivered full-time at the Notre Dame Campus in Winnipeg and includes a paid co-op work term integrated into the schedule, giving students applied workplace experience alongside their technical coursework. It is accredited through the Certified Technicians and Technologists Association of Manitoba and the Canadian Council of Technicians and Technologists, supporting recognition of the credential across Canada. The program suits individuals interested in the technical side of mechanical design, manufacturing, and building systems, preparing them for engineering technologist roles that support engineers and other professionals in industrial and manufacturing settings.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Admission requires Grade 12 graduation, or final-year enrolment with results due by 15 July for fall entry, including one credit each of Grade 12 English (40S), Grade 12 Applied Math or Pre-Calculus Math (40S), and Grade 12 Chemistry or Physics (40S); Physics is much more strongly recommended than Chemistry. Applicants 19 or older who have been out of high school for at least a year may qualify as mature students by completing or enrolling in the same courses. Applicants who completed three years of full-time secondary education in Canada, the US, or an ELR-exempt country in English meet the language requirement; others must submit one of RRC Polytech's approved diploma-level assessments: IELTS Academic (overall 6.0, no band below 5.5), CAEL (overall band 60), PTE (overall 54, minimum 50 per skill), Duolingo (115 or above, minimum 95 per section), or TOEFL iBT (4.0 overall, minimum 3.5 per component).

Application Details

Application Deadline: Domestic and international applicants apply directly to RRC Polytech. The college states that most programs, including many trades and technology diplomas, have no fixed application deadline and remain open for registration until the program start date or until seats fill, while a smaller set of higher-demand programs (started in August or September) does carry a published deadline, listed through an interactive search tool on the college's Application Deadlines page. The specific cut-off dates for individual programs, and any distinct international deadline, could not be extracted from that page by automated means, so admission for most of this institution's programs is best treated as rolling rather than tied to a fixed date. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
