Overview
The Bachelor of Technology in Mechatronics is a degree-completion program that equips graduates to design, automate, and optimize modern manufacturing systems, combining mechanical, electrical, and control engineering technology. It is intended for holders of a two-year engineering technology diploma or equivalent credential in fields such as electrical, manufacturing, chemical, industrial, or mechanical engineering technology, adding one further year of study to reach a three-year bachelor's degree; applicants with a science diploma or bachelor's degree plus at least eight months of relevant industrial or manufacturing work experience may also qualify. Courses are delivered in person, online, and in blended formats at the Notre Dame Campus. The program begins with evening classes in Winter 2027, expanding to daytime classes in Winter 2028.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Admission requires proof of graduation, or enrolment in the final year, from a recognized post-secondary institution in an Engineering Technology diploma or Engineering degree in Electrical, Manufacturing, Chemical, Industrial, or Mechanical fields. Applicants may alternatively qualify with a diploma or bachelor's degree in science plus a minimum of eight months of relevant industrial or manufacturing work experience. Applicants who completed three years of full-time secondary education in Canada, the US, or an ELR-exempt country in English meet the language requirement; others must submit an approved English language assessment at the program-specific level. Required documentation is due within 15 days of applying, and post-secondary transcripts must be issued within six months of the application date.
