Industrial Mechanic/Millwright is a one-year, full-time certificate delivered over three terms. Early coursework introduces millwright safety, tools and fasteners, math for millwrights, and reading prints, drawings, and schematics, alongside welding and metallurgy theory and lab work. Later terms build machine shop skills, including operating cut-off saws, drill presses, lathes, and milling machines, along with rigging, lifting and access equipment, machine alignment, and further welding and metallurgy instruction. Students also learn to use precision measuring and layout instruments and to read blueprints. The program concludes with a millwright capstone project and an Industrial Maintenance Technician work practicum, giving students applied, workplace-based experience. Graduates are prepared for entry-level millwright and industrial mechanic roles maintaining and repairing industrial machinery and equipment.
