Medical Assistant and Patient Care is a two-year diploma combining medical assistant, health unit clerk, and health care aide curricula to prepare graduates for a range of healthcare support roles. Coursework builds clinical skills, medical office and health information technology competencies, and administrative abilities alongside best-practice patient care principles. The program is accredited by the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA), and graduates may become eligible for the Health Information-Certified Associate designation in addition to medical assistant and patient care roles. Classes are delivered on a full-time, on-campus basis at the South Winnipeg Campus. Graduates are prepared to support clinical teams, manage administrative and medical technology tasks, and contribute to the smooth operation of healthcare facilities across Manitoba's healthcare system.
