BA/BS in Urban Ministry

Urban Ministry is an emphasis within the Bachelor of Arts in Mission and Ministry at Redeemer University, offered as an honours major. The program prepares students to understand and practise ministry in urban and intercultural settings, examining what it means to announce, demonstrate, and embody the Christian message of the Kingdom of God within city contexts. Students complete ten core courses shared across the Mission and Ministry major alongside emphasis-specific coursework in areas such as evangelism and discipleship. The program includes a co-op component in which students complete two eight-month paid work placements or internships in ministry settings, providing field experience alongside classroom study. Experiential learning opportunities include weekly outreach initiatives such as Deedz, in which students travel downtown to offer hot chocolate and conversation to community members. Graduates are prepared for roles in urban and intercultural ministry, church leadership, and community-based Christian service.
