Indigenous Economic Development Graduate Certificate at Royal Roads University in Victoria, Canada is a postgraduate certificate in Indigenous Focus programme. The programme is delivered on campus. Teaching is in English. Tuition for international students is CAD 11,179 per total (CAD 8,118 per total for local students).
A nine-credit graduate certificate of three courses delivered fully online, in a mix of synchronous virtual and asynchronous sessions, for Indigenous and non-Indigenous professionals engaged in economic development with and for Indigenous communities. The program responds to the significant expansion of Indigenous economic activity and partnerships in British Columbia, across Canada and internationally, and to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's identification of expanded economic opportunity for Indigenous Peoples as a key goal. Its premise is that a strong, sustainable economy supports the growth of self-determining, independent nations and individuals, and that education is central to that growth. The online format lets students keep working while they study. Credits ladder into Royal Roads master's programs, including the MBA, the MA in Interdisciplinary Studies and the MA in Leadership. It is written particularly with rising managers from First Nations enterprises and governments in mind.

Application Details
Start Date:February
Application Deadline:Royal Roads University sets no single university-wide deadline: domestic and international applicants apply directly to the university through the same process, and every programme page checked shows one identical deadline for both. RRU consistently closes a programme's application exactly three calendar months before that programme's own intake start date — a September 2027 intake typically closes 7 June 2027 — though a few programmes (the Master of Global Management, for example) use a six-month lead instead. Each programme lists its own upcoming intakes, running from 2026 into 2028 depending on the programme, and RRU says it may still accept a late application if space and processing time remain, but it publishes no separate international deadline and no institution-wide equal-consideration or rolling policy. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
