This two-year Bachelor of Technology degree with a major in Software Development covers full-stack software design, development, and deployment. Coursework applies advanced design patterns, algorithms, and data structures across programming, web development, database design, and software testing and security. Students gain practical experience building software solutions used across multiple industries. An optional 10-to-12-week co-op or work-integrated learning term is available between years one and two. Admission requires completion of a SAIT information technology diploma, such as Software Development or Information Technology with a Software Development major, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.3 (67% or C+). The program is delivered in person at SAIT's Main Campus, is available as a stand-alone program or within international bundle programs, and accepts international applicants, meeting the field-of-study requirement for a Post-Graduation Work Permit.

Admission Requirements: Admission requires a SAIT information technology diploma or equivalent from an accredited post-secondary institution, with a minimum 2.3 cumulative GPA (67% or C+). Qualifying diplomas include Software Development and Information Technology with a Software Development major. SAIT accepts recognised high school course equivalents for applicants educated outside Alberta, and applicants educated outside Canada must provide an international document assessment showing they meet the program admission requirements. All applicants, including those educated in Canada, must demonstrate English language proficiency before admission (SAIT admissions, English Proficiency). SAIT's institution-wide scale accepts IELTS Academic at 6.0 in each skill, TOEFL iBT at a total score of 4.5 with a 4.5 minimum per section, PTE Academic at 53, the Duolingo English Test at 115 overall with 95 minimum per sub-score, and CAEL at 60 overall with 60 in each skill, among other accepted tests.
