The Land Analyst certificate is a one-year, ten-course program delivered entirely online through SAIT's MacPhail School of Energy. It prepares students for surface land administration roles in the oil and gas sector, covering land administration concepts and practices, liaison with landowners and other stakeholders, lease record management, regulatory compliance, and community relations. In the second semester, students choose between an eight-week practicum with an employer or a group project, giving the program a work-integrated component alongside the online coursework. Graduates are prepared for positions such as land administrator, surface coordinator, project analyst, and renewable energy land administrator, reflecting the program's coverage of both conventional oil and gas holdings and renewable energy land files. All coursework is completed online, with no in-person attendance required at SAIT's Calgary campus. The program does not currently accept international applicants.
