This certificate program provides specialized education in petroleum land administration, covering the interpretation and management of land contracts, leases, transfers and joint venture agreements used in the energy industry. Students study the legal and regulatory frameworks governing land administration and develop skills to administer agreements covering freehold, Crown and Aboriginal lands. The credential requires 15 credits across six courses, delivered fully online, with up to five academic years allowed to complete all required courses. Graduates are prepared for roles such as petroleum land administrator, land clerk or land officer, working within the land departments of energy companies, government bodies and land consultancy firms. According to SAIT's annual alumni survey, 89% of graduates were employed within the reporting period. The program is not currently offered to international applicants as a stand-alone credential.
