This two-year diploma trains students to design, analyze, and troubleshoot electronic circuits and systems, with specializations in GPS-based systems, surveillance, and wireless communication technologies. Coursework covers circuit design and simulation using computer-aided tools, digital and analog electronics, microprocessor systems, and radiofrequency communication, combined with hands-on fabrication and testing in labs alongside skilled technicians. Students complete a final capstone project in the last semester. The program is delivered in person at the Main Campus through SAIT's MacPhail School of Energy and is nationally accredited by Technology Accreditation Canada at the Engineering Technologist level. Graduates are prepared for roles as electronics engineering technologists or technicians, with transfer options toward electrical engineering degrees at partner Canadian universities, including a bridge program to the University of Victoria's Bachelor of Engineering programs. International applicants are accepted and the program is eligible for the Post-Graduation Work Permit.
