Cert in Indigenous Leadership Skills

This applied certificate consists of eight courses (240 hours) that examine Indigenous approaches to leadership across Canada. Coursework covers the diverse leadership styles used in Indigenous communities, the role of resiliency in traditional Indigenous leadership, and the challenges facing Indigenous businesses and entrepreneurs, along with strategies for addressing them. The program is open access: students do not apply or have admission requirements assessed, and instead register for individual courses part time, working toward the certificate as they complete them. Courses are delivered online or by distance, with start dates varying by course rather than following a fixed cohort intake. The program is not eligible for the Canada-Saskatchewan student loan program. It suits learners already working in or entering roles involving Indigenous community leadership, business, or organizational settings who want a grounding in Indigenous leadership perspectives and practices.
