— it helps other students.
This certificate program trains students to work in parts retail and distribution, combining classroom theory with practical assignments on identifying all types of automotive and equipment parts, managing inventory through computerized systems, handling warehouse operations, and serving customers in a parts counter environment. The program runs 32 weeks full-time and is available through a distance-delivery option that allows students to complete coursework and assignments online. Graduates may pursue further apprenticeship training toward Red Seal journeyperson endorsement in a parts-related trade, and journeypersons have a further pathway into the Bachelor of Applied Management degree. The program suits individuals seeking entry-level roles with parts suppliers, dealerships, and equipment distributors in inventory, counter sales, or warehouse coordination positions. Saskatchewan Polytechnic has suspended new intakes into this program for the 2027-28 academic year; the 2026-27 offering remains active.
