This two-year diploma builds a foundation in core business concepts during the first year, including accounting, marketing, management, human resources, and entrepreneurship, before students specialize in the second year in one of Accountancy, Financial Services, Human Resources, Management, Municipal Administration, or Sport Management. Full-time in-person delivery runs 32 weeks per year over two years, with an accelerated format available for students starting in January; select specialties are also offered part-time online through the Centre for Continuing Education. Optional cooperative education placements are available in some specialties. The program is offered at the Moose Jaw, Saskatoon, and Prince Albert campuses. Graduates are prepared for roles such as accountant, financial officer, human resources specialist, municipal administrator, sport manager, or entrepreneur, and may pursue further study, including transfer credit toward select university business degrees.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Admission requires Grade 12, or successful completion of at least 15 credit units from a recognized post-secondary institution, along with compliance with Saskatchewan Polytechnic's English Language Requirement. Computer experience with Windows applications is recommended. Applicants who do not hold the standard academic credential may qualify through the ACCUPLACER placement test, with minimum scores of 250 in Arithmetic, 250 in Quantitative Reasoning/Algebra/Statistics, 243 in Reading, and 241 in Writing. Intakes run each September at Moose Jaw and Saskatoon, with an additional January intake at Moose Jaw for most specialties.
