Program details
Overview
Two-year Liberal Arts Diploma at Selkirk College focused on the interdisciplinary study of human conflict and nonviolent resolution. Delivered within the University Arts and Sciences stream, the program examines conflict analysis and transformation, restorative justice, human rights, social justice, and international development through coursework combined with service learning. Students complete transferable arts and science credits alongside peace-and-conflict-focused coursework. Classes are delivered on campus at the Nelson campus with a single Fall intake each year. Admission requires meeting Selkirk's general admission requirements plus the University Arts and Sciences entry standard: a minimum 60% in English Studies 12 or equivalent, a standard that also applies to mature-student applicants, and applicants whose first language is not English must meet the college's separate English-language-proficiency requirement. The four-semester diploma prepares graduates for further university study or entry-level roles in community development, conflict resolution, and social- and international-development organizations.
Requirements
