Overview

This diploma combines field-based learning with hands-on skills and knowledge aimed at roles such as park ranger, fisheries and wildlife technologist, and recreation technologist. Outdoor classroom sessions build skills spanning backcountry navigation and travel, avalanche awareness, parks and recreation management, fish and wildlife identification and management, and backcountry recreation, alongside practical training in ecosystem health and management and in computer systems built for environmental technologies. A four-month co-op education placement is available, and credits transfer to several Canadian universities offering entry into a range of degree programs.
