Program details

Overview

Ths micro-credential provides learners with a foundational competency set in mass timber design and 3D BIM fabrication using Cadwork software, conflict resolution communications, wood species and wood project integration, design for CNC machining, and 2D drawing packages and materials lists for project assembly.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: The programme page sets no mandatory academic prerequisites and states no English-language test score; instead it lists recommended background for success, such as completion of the Mass Timber Fabrication Foundations micro-credential, an architecture or engineering design diploma, carpentry or timber-framing experience, an advanced-manufacturing diploma, or a digital fabrication and design certificate or diploma. Given the technical demands of the Cadwork software used, the page also recommends a strong aptitude for 3D design, strong written and verbal communication skills, organisational and detail-oriented habits, and advanced computer competence, and invites applicants unsure whether they meet these recommended prerequisites to contact the college. Admission itself runs on a first-submitted-application, first-qualified basis until the cohort is full, with no separate entrance exam or interview described.
