Overview

Four-year honours nursing degree at King Campus meeting the College of Nurses of Ontario entry-to-practice competencies. Clinical learning starts in semester three with weekly group practicum shifts supervised by an RN and culminates in a one-on-one preceptored integrated practicum in semester eight, in settings such as acute care hospitals and long-term care. The hybrid-delivered curriculum combines simulation-lab training with diverse clinical placements and prepares graduates for the NCLEX-RN examination and CNO registration. January and September intakes.

Requirements

Minimum GPA: 75.00 / %
Admission Requirements: DOMESTIC ACADEMIC ENTRY: an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, or mature-applicant status, including six Grade 12 U or M courses with an overall average of at least 75%. Four core courses must each be completed with a final grade of 75% or higher: Grade 12 English (ENG4U), any Grade 12 U mathematics, Grade 12 Biology (SBI4U) and Grade 12 Chemistry (SCH4U). The remaining two Grade 12 U/M courses need at least 60% each. Before clinical practicum you need a completed Clinical Preparedness Permit. Medical side: immunisation records matching the Canadian Immunization Guide for health-care workers, bloodwork showing immune status for hepatitis B, varicella, measles, mumps and rubella, and TB testing or a chest X-ray where required. Non-medical side: a Basic Life Support certificate renewed each year, Standard First Aid valid for four years (online courses are not accepted), a mask fit-test record renewed every two years, and a criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening renewed annually. A current criminal record check and vulnerable sector screening from a recognised police service is required before any clinical, practicum or work placement. An outstanding charge or an unpardoned conviction bars placement, and because placement is needed to progress, Seneca counsels affected students to withdraw. Students arrange their own transport to placements across the Greater Toronto Area, which can run six, 10 or 12 hours, with some days beginning at 6 a.m., and evenings and weekends are possible. International applicants must present credentials assessed as equivalent to the Ontario prerequisites above - including six senior courses equivalent to Ontario university-preparatory credits at a 65% overall average - and meet the English standard Seneca publishes specifically for the Honours BSN: IELTS Academic 6.5 with no skill under 6.0, PTE Academic 60, CAEL 70 with writing no lower than 60, Duolingo 120-125, Cambridge English 176 with no skill under 169, or TOEFL iBT with no skill under 4.5/6 (22/30). Tests must be less than two years old. Seneca lists this program among the nine it will not give a conditional offer to through the English Language Institute, so an international applicant needs the English score in hand rather than a language-pathway offer. The College of Nurses of Ontario's Requisite Skills and Abilities document sets out the essential requirements of the profession. It is not intended to exclude applicants who need reasonable accommodation, and Seneca advises raising accommodation needs with Accessible Learning Services before or during admission.

Application Details

Start Date: Start terms read from this program's own Program Availability table on 6 September 2026: September 2026 at King, closed to domestic and international applicants alike; January 2027 at King, waitlisted for domestic applicants and closed to international applicants. This program does not run a May intake. Availability is subject to change and a seat is not guaranteed.
Application Deadline: Domestic applicants (Canadian citizens and permanent residents) apply through OntarioColleges.ca. Seneca's institution-wide equal consideration date is 1 February for that year's September (fall) intake: apply on or before 1 February and you are considered alongside every other applicant; after that date any seats still open are filled first-come, first-served, and high-demand programs may already be closed. Applications open at OCAS on 1 October of the previous calendar year for a September start, and on 1 October two calendar years ahead for the January (winter) and May (summer) starts, neither of which has an equal-consideration date. Seneca begins issuing offers on 1 November; for fall entry the earliest confirmation deadline is 1 May, and a CAD 200 non-refundable deposit (due no earlier than the second Wednesday of June) is what holds the seat — your own offer letter carries the binding dates. International applicants have no fixed deadline: Seneca states it admits students up to the first day of classes but stops accepting applications once the program is full, so apply as early as you can. These are Seneca's institution-wide dates, not a deadline published for this program alone — confirm on the program page before you apply.
