BA/BS in Health Care Systems

Health Care Systems is one of eight thematic focus areas within Simon Fraser University's Health Sciences major, offered as a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts through the Faculty of Health Sciences. Students build a foundation in the cellular, molecular, and behavioural mechanisms underlying chronic and infectious disease and population health, then apply it to the study of how health care is organized, financed, delivered, and governed, including multi-level health policy making. The theme does not carry separate admission or degree requirements from the Health Sciences major; students choose it as an area of emphasis within their coursework rather than as a stand-alone credential. Graduates are prepared for roles in health system planning and administration, health policy analysis, and further graduate study in health services research or public health.
