Overview
Social and Health Policy Sciences is an undergraduate program area within the Health Sciences major at Simon Fraser University's Faculty of Health Sciences, leading to a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science. Requirements
Admission Requirements: Mental Health and Addictions, Social and Health Policy Sciences, and Social Inequities and Health are three of eight subject topics offered within the Faculty of Health Sciences' Bachelor of Arts / Bachelor of Science program; students are admitted to Health Sciences as a whole and choose a topic afterward, so there is no separate per-topic entrance average. BC/Yukon applicants need a minimum of five approved Grade 12 courses, including English Studies 12 or English First Peoples 12 at a minimum of 70 percent, or the equivalent AP or IB course. Grade 11 prerequisites include English 11, Math 11 or Foundations of Mathematics/Pre-Calculus 11, one course from an approved science list (Science 11, Chemistry 11, Earth Sciences 11, Environmental Science 11, Life Sciences 11, Physics 11 or Science for Citizens 11), and one Social Studies 11 course. Grade 12 Course List A must include the English requirement plus further List A courses to the five-course minimum. Admission is holistic across all approved Grade 11 and 12 marks; SFU publishes no fixed competitive average for Health Sciences.
