Overview
SFU's Curriculum and Instruction Graduate Certificate requires a minimum of 18 units: two courses selected from a set curriculum list -- EDUC 714 Special Topics (3, 4 or 5 units), EDUC 816 Developing Educational Programs and Practices for Diverse Educational Settings, EDUC 820 Current Issues in Curriculum and Pedagogy, EDUC 822 Evaluation of Educational Programs, EDUC 823 Curriculum and Instruction in an Individual Teaching Speciality, EDUC 830 Implementation of Educational Programs, EDUC 833 Social and Moral Philosophy in Education, or EDUC 858 Intercultural Perspectives and Practices in Francophone School Contexts, most worth 5 units -- plus two further EDUC graduate courses assigned by the Associate Dean of Graduate Studies. The certificate is designed to be completed within four terms and follows SFU's standard graduate admission requirements, with allowance for exceptional applicants who demonstrate strong scholarly or professional achievement despite not meeting the usual criteria.
