Overview
SFU's Educational Leadership Graduate Certificate requires a minimum of 18 units: two courses chosen from a defined set -- EDUC 813 Organizational Theory and Analyses, EDUC 817 Policy Processes, EDUC 818 Leadership Studies, EDUC 822 Evaluation of Educational Programs, EDUC 864 Research Designs in Education, or EDUC 714 Special Topics (3, 4 or 5 units) -- plus two further EDUC graduate courses assigned by the Associate Dean of Graduate Studies. It's intended for people already leading or aspiring to lead schools, colleges or professional training organizations, and is designed to be completed within four terms. Graduates who go on to the MEd in Educational Leadership can apply up to 15 of the certificate's 18 units toward that degree, giving the certificate a direct laddering path into the full master's program rather than requiring students to restart their coursework from scratch.
