BA/BS in Business Administration

Trent University's Bachelor of Business Administration examines a range of contemporary business models, from corporate and online business to small business and self-employment, covering leadership, management, organizational structure, networking, and communication. The program is offered at both the Peterborough and Durham GTA campuses and includes a paid co-op stream: students typically complete three four-month work terms of 35 hours per week, and can combine two consecutive terms into an eight-month placement with one employer. Students who prefer not to pursue co-op can instead complete a paid internship of six, eight, or twelve months in fourth year. The program is structured around collaboration and experiential learning, including opportunities to pitch business ideas in competitions such as Jeux du Commerce, Pitch It, and the Durham Ideas Den, and to build professional networks through mentorship meetings, business clubs, and Trent's CEO-in-Residence program. Study-abroad options, such as a sustainability and business field school in South Africa, are also available. The program is designed to prepare students for professional designations such as CPA or CHRP, for further study such as an MBA, or for direct entry into business roles, suiting students who want applied, paid work experience built into their degree.
