Overview

Indigenous Environmental Studies & Sciences at Trent University (Bachelor of Arts, General) is an interdisciplinary program offered jointly by the School of the Environment and the Chanie Wenjack School for Indigenous Studies. It integrates Indigenous knowledge with Western scientific approaches, aiming to give students critical and integrative thinking skills to address complex environmental problems facing Indigenous communities. Students who complete the Diploma in Indigenous Environmental Studies & Sciences may transfer those credits toward this Bachelor of Arts degree. Some courses carry a small additional fee for field trips. Indigenous applicants are encouraged to contact the Aboriginal Enrolment Advisor in the First Peoples House of Learning for program-specific admission guidance. As a General credential, students complete the program alongside Trent's standard undergraduate degree requirements.

Minimum GPA: 70.00 / %
Admission Requirements: Ontario Secondary School Diploma applicants need a minimum of six Grade 12 4U/4M courses, including program-specific prerequisites, a minimum 70% overall average, and ENG4U with a minimum of 60%.
