Overview

Individualized Studies at Trent University (Bachelor of Arts, General) allows students of demonstrated academic ability and intellectual independence to design their own program of study, selecting courses across disciplines to explore a theme of their own choosing rather than following an existing major or joint-major. Admission is by application to an Academic Advisor, requiring a rationale for the proposed course selection and an explanation of why it cannot be accommodated within an existing program. The credential requires 20.0 credits, of which at least 2.0 must be at the 4000 level. Because the program is self-designed, its content varies by student and is built in consultation with academic advising rather than a fixed course list. The format suits students whose academic interests span multiple departments and do not fit within Trent's existing General or Honours programs.

Requirements

Minimum GPA: 70.00 / %
Admission Requirements: Admission requires evidence of superior academic ability and intellectual independence.
