Overview

Information Systems at Trent University (Bachelor of Arts, General) is administered by the Computer Science department and examines the flow, storage, and access of information within and across organizational boundaries, covering both computational and non-computational systems. The curriculum aims to give students a broad systems perspective alongside technical grounding in databases, networks, and telecommunications, together with non-technical topics such as ethics, law, and digital culture. The program is offered exclusively as a joint-major, meaning students must combine it with a second discipline rather than take Information Systems as a stand-alone major. Graduates are prepared to work at the intersection of technology and organizational information needs. As a General credential, students complete their joint-major requirements alongside Trent's standard undergraduate degree regulations.
