French Certificate

Trent University's Certificate in French helps students strengthen their French-language skills and gain a recognized credential for career or academic purposes, reaching the BBB level required by the Public Service Commission of the Government of Canada. It may be completed as a stand-alone credential, for which applicants need the equivalent of Ontario Grade 12 or mature-student status and are placed by a placement test, or in conjunction with an Honours or General degree, where students are awarded the certificate on completing the required 3.0 credits. Certificate courses can be counted concurrently toward university degree requirements. A Trent University transcript records all courses taken and grades received, and credits earned are transferable to the General or Honours BA and BSc degrees. Placement test information is available through the French program's own website.
