The Bachelor Honours in Archaeology at Trent University focuses on the interdisciplinary and comparative study of the human past through the material record. Students take courses in comparative world archaeology, field and analytic methods, and laboratory techniques, alongside archaeological theory and ethics. The program offers regional specializations covering the Americas, Europe, the Mediterranean, and Southeast Asia, allowing students to focus their studies on particular archaeological traditions and geographic areas. Both single-major and joint-major Honours routes are available, each requiring 20.0 credits of study. The program combines classroom-based theoretical and methodological training with practical skills in fieldwork and laboratory analysis, preparing students to interpret material evidence of past human societies. It suits students interested in archaeological research, museum and heritage work, or further graduate study in archaeology or related disciplines.
