The Master of Theology (ThM) is a degree for advanced and specialised theological study beyond the basic degree level, intended to deepen students' theological knowledge and prepare them for doctoral study or pastoral ministry. Two options are available: Option I comprises six courses plus a thesis and is intended for students preparing for further doctoral study or academic teaching; Option II comprises eight courses plus an extended essay and is intended for students seeking to enhance their ministry practice without proceeding to doctoral study. The degree is offered through Trinity College's Faculty of Divinity within the Toronto School of Theology, drawing on faculty and resources across its federated colleges. The Faculty of Divinity can provide financial assistance of up to $6,000 for ThM students. The normal maximum period allowed to complete the degree is six years.
