Certificate in Theological Studies

The Certificate in Theological Studies (CTS) is a seven-credit program providing a general foundation in theological knowledge and practice at Trinity College's Faculty of Divinity. The curriculum comprises five foundational courses spanning Old Testament, New Testament, Theology, History of Christianity, and one further theological area, plus two advanced courses. Students may pursue an optional concentration in Anglican Studies, Orthodox Studies, Diaconal Studies, Congregational Administration, or Spirituality and the Arts, allowing the program to be tailored toward a particular ministry or vocational interest. The program is intended to be completed full-time within one academic year, drawing on both in-person and online credits offered through the ecumenical Toronto School of Theology. It is designed for university graduates seeking foundational theological education, whether as preparation for further graduate study or as a standalone credential, without committing to a full degree program.
