Program details

Overview

This undergraduate program leads to a Bachelor's degree in psychoeducation from Universite de Montreal, delivered full-time through day courses on the Montreal campus. The curriculum covers normal human development and adaptation difficulties, scientific methods in the social sciences, professional ethics, and evidence-based psychoeducational assessment and intervention, building progressively toward professional practice through mandatory internships in settings such as health centres, schools and community services. Students may follow the RECI pathway, which combines options in research, creation, community engagement and international study. The program is designed for students preparing to evaluate and intervene with individuals and groups experiencing adaptation difficulties, leading toward professional psychoeducation practice or graduate study in the field.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Direct entry is offered to holders of a DEC (or equivalent) and to university-educated applicants, with the university transcript weighted proportionally to completed credits for the latter group; admission is decided on the excellence of the academic record. The published cote de rendement collegial (cote R) for Quebec collegial applicants ranges from a minimum of 27.011 to a maximum of 35.517, averaging 29.574, as of 9 July 2026. Because instruction is in French, applicants who did not complete their prior schooling entirely in French must pass Quebec's Epreuve uniforme de francais, complete the requisite university credits in French, or score at least B2 in oral and written comprehension on an accepted French test. The 90-credit programme runs full-time over three years with mandatory internships, admitting once a year for the Autumn trimester: Quebec CEGEP applicants apply by 1 March 2027 and university-educated or international applicants by 1 February 2027.
