Program details

Overview

This undergraduate program leads to a Bachelor's degree in industrial relations from Universite de Montreal, delivered full-time or part-time through day courses on the Montreal campus. The curriculum covers human resources management, labour relations and unionism, government labour and employment policy, occupational health, safety and well-being, and labour law and regulation. Students choose among three pathways: a regular track, an international track including an overseas internship, and an Honours track with a research focus that provides accelerated access to a subsequent master's degree. A mandatory 14-week internship in the final year completes the programme. Graduates are eligible for professional recognition with Quebec's Ordre des conseillers en ressources humaines agrees and the Ordre des administrateurs agrees, and the program is designed for students preparing for careers or graduate study in human resources and labour relations.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Direct entry is offered to Quebec DEC holders, to university-educated candidates with coursework weighted equally to their college record by completed-credit percentage, and to out-of-province or international applicants holding a recognized equivalent credential; admission is decided on academic-record excellence. The published cote de rendement collegial (cote R) for Quebec applicants, as of 9 July 2026, ranged from a minimum of 22.017 to a maximum of 32.435, averaging 26.496. Because instruction is in French, applicants must demonstrate French proficiency through secondary education completed entirely in French, Quebec's Uniform French Exam, or an accepted French test scoring at least B2 within 24 months of the programme start. The 90-credit programme runs full-time or part-time over three years with a mandatory 14-week final internship, admitting for both the Winter and Autumn trimesters: Autumn 2027 applicants apply by 1 March 2027 (Quebec DEC) or 1 February 2027 (other), with French-proficiency documentation due 15 March or 15 February respectively.
