The Doctorat en sciences veterinaires is a 90-credit, research-based PhD offered through the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, with teaching based at the Centre hospitalier universitaire veterinaire and the Centre de diagnostic veterinaire in Saint-Hyacinthe. Students choose one of eight specialization options: Veterinary Biomedicine, Epidemiology, Microbiology, Pathology, Pharmacology, Human-Animal Relations, Reproduction, or Clinical Sciences. The program develops autonomous research capability, scientific rigour, analytical skills and proficiency in writing scientific articles and grant proposals, through original research, mandatory seminars and workshops. Admission requires a master's degree in veterinary sciences or a related field from an accredited institution, together with a faculty member's prior agreement to supervise the candidate's research. The program admits students in the fall, winter and summer terms, full-time.
