Université de Saint-Boniface's Baccalauréat en travail social is a four-year, 123-credit degree delivered in person with a fall start, preparing graduates for bilingual work as a social worker. Admission Requirements: Canadian-educated applicants need at least 30 university credits with a cumulative average of 2.50, or an adjusted average of 2.50 using their most recent courses with the lowest grades excluded, including 3 credits of mathematics and 6 credits of French from specified courses; PSYC 1211/1221 and SOC 1211/1221 at grade C or higher are strongly recommended. Internationally-educated applicants must first complete the Universite 1 program before applying. The School of Social Work also evaluates a written portfolio — a 400-500 word autobiography, a 250-300 word account of a significant achievement, a 200-250 word self-assessment, a 300-350 word statement on choosing social work, a 200-250 word statement of program expectations, one reference letter and a current resume — and applicants who pass the portfolio stage attend a faculty interview. English proficiency at an advanced level is required, met by Manitoba English 40S, IB or AP English at 4+, ENGL 1071 at a B or higher, USB's own English-proficiency exemption, IELTS Academic 7.0, or TOEFL iBT 94-110 (scores valid within two years); applicants from 57 designated English-speaking countries are exempt.
