The Master's in Education Sciences (Maitrise en sciences de l'education) is a 45-credit, research-based graduate program at Universite de Sherbrooke, delivered on the Sherbrooke and Longueuil campuses. Students choose a research area from school adaptation, school administration, teaching, or career and educational guidance, and pursue original research in that field. The 36-credit core covers research methods, a research seminar, qualitative-analysis foundations, introductory quantitative analysis, a 9-credit research project and a 15-credit thesis (memoire), with up to 9 elective credits chosen from directed-research internships, foundations of education or tutoring activities, plus further electives from relevant graduate-level Faculty of Education courses. The program prepares graduates to design and conduct a research project, critically analyze published work in their field, and communicate results in writing and at conferences, including preparation for eventual doctoral study. The program admits full-time or part-time students at the fall, winter and summer terms.
