The Master's in Preschool and Elementary Education (Maitrise en enseignement au prescolaire et au primaire) is a 45-credit graduate program at Universite de Sherbrooke, offered by the Faculte d'education and delivered entirely online, with admission in the fall, winter and summer terms on a full-time or part-time basis. It leads to the Maitre en education (M.Ed.) degree but does not lead to a teaching licence or authorization to teach. The curriculum opens with 18 mandatory credits, then requires students to choose one of two 18-credit tracks: an integrative project carried out in a school setting, or a professional development project examining the student's own practice and professional identity. The remaining 27 credits are elective courses drawn from areas such as literacy instruction, mathematics and science teaching, classroom management, student motivation, inclusive education, and philosophy for children. The program is intended for practising or aspiring preschool and elementary educators seeking to deepen their pedagogical, psychopedagogical and didactic knowledge.
