The PhD in Computer Science is a 90-credit doctoral programme that trains highly qualified researchers able to contribute to the advancement of knowledge and to innovation in computer science. The programme builds research competencies, provides a stimulating environment for research training, develops the capacity to design innovative projects with regional impact, strengthens scientific and professional communication skills, and fosters autonomous research ability. Most of the 90 credits are earned through directed research, culminating in a written doctoral thesis defended before an examination committee. Students complete an original doctoral research project under the supervision of a thesis director, typically building on prior graduate study in computer science or a closely related field. The programme is delivered in person and admits new students in the Fall, Winter, and Summer terms. It is intended for holders of a relevant master's degree who wish to pursue advanced research in computer science.
