This master's programme (45 credits, code 3095) is the final stage of training required for membership in Quebec's Ordre des psychoéducateurs et psychoéducatrices (OPPQ) and use of the Ps.éd. professional title. Building on skills gained at the bachelor's level, it develops competencies in designing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and managing curative and preventive psychosocial-intervention programmes, deepens the theoretical foundations and methods of psychoeducational intervention, and builds clinical and professional skills alongside research rigour. Students work with individuals, groups, families, and communities, master psychoeducational assessment tools, and develop scientific and professional communication and report-writing abilities. The programme is delivered in a synchronous distance format and admits only holders of a bachelor's degree in psychoeducation. Intake is capacity-limited each fall, with priority given first to UQAT's own bachelor's graduates, then to applicants from the Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Nord-du-Québec, Laurentides, or Vallée-de-la-Gatineau regions.
