The Certificate in Education at the Preschool and Elementary Level in Northern Communities II is a 30-credit UQAT certificate that continues the skills development of teachers and other Inuit education staff on the front line of the school project. It extends training for preschool and elementary teachers, building knowledge and skills in didactics, psychopedagogy, special-needs pedagogy, social intervention, and the areas of language, identity, and culture. The programme aims to strengthen conceptual tools for analyzing educational situations, deepen Inuktitut-language teaching competencies, support reflection on professional-development needs, and build the analytical grounding needed to understand interactions between distinct cultural groups. Required courses cover essential knowledge in plastic creation, writing and revising Inuktitut texts, speaking-Inuktitut instruction, science and technology teaching, the social world in the northern environment, Nunavik's intercultural school system, kindergarten educational intervention, Inuktitut literature, and a six-credit practicum in preparing and evaluating educational practice in an Inuit context. Classified under the Education sector.
