The Bachelor in Preschool and Elementary Education (baccalaureat en education prescolaire et en enseignement primaire) at Universite du Quebec en Outaouais is a 120-credit undergraduate teacher-education program delivered over eight trimesters across four years, offered full-time and part-time at the Gatineau campus and full-time at the St-Jerome campus, with admission each Fall. The program trains education professionals able to deliver the preschool educational services and to teach the full range of subjects prescribed for elementary school under Quebec's pedagogical framework. It develops the disciplinary, psychopedagogical and complementary competencies required to work across preschool and the first, second and third cycles of elementary school. Coursework combines academic study with supervised teaching practicums that build classroom-management, curriculum-planning and instructional skills. Graduates are qualified to seek a Quebec teaching licence (brevet d'enseignement) covering preschool and elementary levels.
