This certificate programme introduces students to the concepts, theories, and research methods of economics through a multidimensional lens that also considers the cultural, historical, political, and social dimensions of economic life. Over 30 credits, students build a foundation in economic analysis while examining how economic activity interacts with broader societal structures, preparing them for further study or for roles requiring an understanding of economic and social dynamics. The programme is offered full-time or part-time on the Gatineau campus and leads to a first-cycle Certificate in Economics and Society. Admission is possible with a college diploma (DEC) or equivalent, with a minimum of 15 completed university credits and a stated cumulative average, or on the basis of relevant aptitude assessed through a questionnaire and possible interview. Intake occurs in the Fall, Winter, and Summer terms.
