The Dance program at York University is a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) offered through the School of the Arts, Media, Performance and Design. Students train in a range of contemporary dance styles while studying choreography, performance technique, and health and wellness. The four-year program, available full-time or part-time, combines studio training with coursework in dance studies, building technical skill alongside creative and analytical understanding of dance as an art form. Graduates leave with a foundation in technique, choreography, creative practice, and dance studies, preparing them for work as performers, choreographers, or dance educators, or for further study. York also offers a concurrent option combining the BFA with a Bachelor of Education (BEd), leading to teacher certification alongside the dance degree. The program is based on York's Keele campus, with entry available in the Fall and Summer terms.
