This Bachelor of Design (B. Des.) program prepares specialists in visual communication design, teaching students to create messages, experiences, and communication systems that convey meaning. Over three years of full-time study (96 credits), the curriculum progresses from foundational design principles to complex, multi-platform projects through studio-based learning that combines theory and practice, including the use of artificial intelligence as a design tool. The program admits 125 students per intake, in the Fall term only, and requires a mandatory full-time course load. Any DEC qualifies Quebec applicants for admission, with no portfolio required. Applicants from outside Quebec need a secondary diploma plus one year of university study. International applicants require 13 years of pre-university education, 12 years plus one year of higher education, or a French secondary baccalaureate (general or technological).
