This 30-credit certificate provides foundational training in sociology through its theoretical approaches, core concepts, and methods. Students examine social relations, actions, policies, organizations, and representations across a range of social phenomena. It is nominally one year in length on a full-time basis, though it can also be completed part-time, and up to 15 credits of prior learning may be recognized toward it. Some courses are available at a distance, and the program can be combined with hybrid course formats for added flexibility. Credits earned may be applied toward the university's sociology bachelor's degree. The certificate is taught in French and admits students in the Fall and Winter terms.
