This is the only research doctorate (Ph.D.) in school, extracurricular or higher-education music education offered by a francophone university in Quebec. The 90-credit program has an estimated full-time duration of four years and prepares graduates to contribute to research in musical education and to take on leadership roles in the field. It leads to the Philosophiae Doctor (Ph.D.) credential. Admission requires written confirmation from a research director accepting to supervise the candidate's work before the application is submitted. Applicants must demonstrate intermediate-level proficiency in both French and English, and the program admits students in the fall session. Individual courses may be delivered at a distance or in hybrid format, depending on the course.
