This doctorate trains specialists in human nutrition, both fundamental and applied, through original research on nutrition- and food-related issues. The 90-credit program has an estimated full-time duration of four years, with a minimum of three consecutive full-time sessions required, and leads to the Philosophiae Doctor (Ph.D.) credential. Most courses are delivered on campus, though some may be offered at a distance or in hybrid format. Before applying, candidates must secure a research supervisor. Students are expected to conduct research independently and to contribute substantively to advancing knowledge in nutrition science.
